Cimarron Campground
Tucked among spruce, aspen and fir in the scenic Valle Vidal, this campground is popular with hunters, anglers, wildlife-watchers and horseback riders.

General Information
The campground contains 32 campsites, which includes 11 horse sites, two double sites and 25 single-family sites.
Mid-Spring - Fall
The campground is within the annual eastside Valle Vidal closure between January 1 and April 1 to protect wintering elk habitat.
Overnight Use:
Single Site: $22 per night (includes parking for one vehicle)
Double Site: $40 per night
Additional Vehicle Fee: $11 per vehicle per night
Day Use:
$11 per vehicle per day
Fees are only charged mid-May through mid-October.

Directions
From Costilla on State Highway 522, travel east on State Highway 196 past Amalia to the intersection of Forest Service Road 1950. Travel on 1950 (a gravel road) east to the Unit boundary. Follow Forest Service Road 1950 to the junction with Forest Service Road 1900. Turn right, you will cross Costilla Creek. Continue on Forest Service Road 1950, 10 miles to the junction with Forest Road 1910. Climb 1 mile up the hill to Cimmarron Campground.
