Road Canyon Campground
This small campground, located at the head of Road Canyon Reservoir, usually has vacancy when other upriver campgrounds are full. The area is in a fully open meadow, with no trees, and it is not screened from Rio Grande Reservoir Road. It has 6 camping units, each with a parking spur, table, and fire ring. An undeveloped overflow camping area is directly across the road. A vault type toilet is provided. No firewood or drinking water are available. There is fishing access and a boat launch at Road Canyon Reservoir.

All sites are first come, first served and cannot be reserved.
General Information
Trash service is provided by the concessionaire from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Outside of the summer season, there is no trash service. Please pack out all garbage.
Open year-round, but may be inaccessible due to snow levels or spring road closures. From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, there are higher fees and trash service. During the off-season, there is a reduced fee and trash must be packed out.
Check in time is after 2:00 pm. Check out time is before 11:00 am.
14-day camping limit.
Fires in designated fire rings only.
This can be bear country. Remain "Bear Aware" and store food properly while camping.
On Road Canyon Reservoir, boats allowed, no wakes, trolling motors OK, primitive boat ramp.
Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to single campsites ONLY.
*The discount applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fee or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party.

Directions
Directions from Creede: Travel southwest from Creede on Highway 149 (toward Lake City) for about 20 miles, to the intersection of Highway 149 and Forest Road 520 (Rio Grande Reservoir Road), then drive almost 6 miles west on FR 520.
Parking
Maximum spur length is 50 feet. Not all sites will fit vehicles of this length.
