Grizzly Guard Station Recreation Rental

At an elevation of 8,500 feet, Grizzly Creek Guard Station is located between Walden and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in the Routt National Forest. Historic Grizzly Creek Guard Station sleeps 5 and is composed of 2 rooms. It is situated 50 feet from the main gravel road and visitors can expect some traffic and dust. Life described here is the simple life, no frills.

The heater and range stove are powered by natural gas and the toilet is a vault toilet located outside approximately 25 feet away. There is no electricity or water. However, from late June to October, guests can get water from the campground spigot about 1/4 mile away. In the winter months, visitors must bring in their own water from their own source. All guests must pack out their own trash. The cabin offers some creature comforts, but guests should be prepared to bring some of their own supplies and gear.
