Two Peak Trail #521

The Two Peak Trail #521 provides access to the Porter Creek drainage in between Porter Mountain and Two Peak. The trail travels around the north end of Two Peak, then veers to the south and travels up the Porter Creek drainage on the east side of Two Peak, and finally terminates in Porter Flat off Porter Flats Road, FSR #266 to the south of Two Peak. The trail travels through a mixture of aspen stands and open meadows on the flank of Two Peak, and has a difficult stream crossing on Porter Creek due to the extensive beaver activity on the creek.

Directions

NORTHERN ACCESS:

Travel east 14.2 miles on Highway 330 from the Plateau Creek Bridge in Collbran to the intersection with Buzzard Divide Road, FSR #265. Turn right onto Buzzard Divide Rd. and travel south 2.1 miles to the intersection with Porter Flat Road, FSR #266, just past the Hightower Guard Station. Turn right onto Porter Flat Rd. and travel south approximately 5.2 miles to the northern Two Peak Trailhead.

SOUTHERN ACCESS:

Travel east 14.2 miles on Highway 330 from the Plateau Creek Bridge in Collbran to the intersection of Buzzard Divide Road, FSR #265. Turn south onto Buzzard Divide Rd. and travel 2.1 miles to the intersection with Porter Flat Road, FSR #266. Turn south onto Porter Flat Rd. and travel approximately 7.7 miles to the Two Peak southern Trailhead.
