Stealey Mountain Spur #219.1B

The Stealey Mountain Spur Trail #218.1B begins at its intersection with the Stealey Mountain Trail #219 and dead ends after approximately 1.3 miles. This spur trail switchbacks its way uphill ending at about 9,680 feet. It provides views of Chimney Rock at 11,781 feet, Courthouse Mountain at 12,152 feet and Stealey Mountain at 10,248 feet. This is a very popular access and camping spot during big game hunting seasons.

From Ridgeway:

Follow U.S. Hwy 550 north to the intersection with Owl Creek Pass Road, Ouray County Road 10, approximately 1.7 miles north of the traffic light in Ridgeway. Continue for approximately 12.9 miles to an intersection with a short side road (the old Owl Creek Pass Road) to the right and a sign post indicating the Stealey Mountain trailhead as being down that road at its end, approximately 0.1 miles. About 100 yards off the road there is a travel management hiker/horse sign marks the trail access. Parking is along the road. Follow the Stealey Mountain North Trail #219 for approximately 1.2 miles to its intersection with the Stealey Mountain Spur Trail.
