Skyline Trail #465
The Skyline Trail #465 begins at the Eddiesville Trailhead and ends at the Tumble Creek Trailhead. It travels most of its length in the La Garita Wilderness where wilderness regulations apply. This trail follows the Cochetopa Creek upstream to the base of San Luis Peak, and then climbs to the Continental Divide at San Luis Pass. It traverses through alpine tundra and talus slopes along the divide to the base of Baldy Cinco and then down into the Tumble Creek drainage. Encounters with deer and elk are likely and fishing is often good in the streams. A large portion of the trail is also a segment of both the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and the Colorado Trail. Significant distances of the Skyline Trail are at elevations higher than 10,000 feet.
