Short Point #615

The Short Point Trail #615 does not have access through the private land, so the visitor needs to go around any private. The upper trail can be hard to follow as the trail descends to the North Fork of Escalante Creek and follows it to it's end.

UPPER ACCESS:

From the Northern Uncompahgre National Forest boundary, travel south on Divide Road, FSR #402 approximately 22.6 miles to FSR #402.3E.  Travel on FSR #402.3E approximately 0.75 miles to a private land gate and fence. From this gate and fence, proceed on Forest Road #402.3E another 0.37 miles to the upper trailhead.

LOWER ACCESS:

The lower trailhead of the Short Point Trail is blocked by private land (Escalante Land and Cattle Company).
