Clear Lake #247

The Clear Lake Trail #247 begins at the end of Forest Service road #838 and ends at Clear Lake. The trail travels around the west side of Rowdy Lake and continues through a fence on the northeast end of the lake. After passing through a stand of aspen, the trail enters a meadow with lots of wildflowers, Clear Lake is at the end of the meadow.

Directions

From Montrose:

Travel east on Hwy 50 for approximately 20 miles to the intersection with County Road 858, Big Cimarron Road. County Road 858 becomes Forest Service Road #858 at the forest boundary. Follow CR 858 for approximately 15 miles to the forest boundary, then continue on FSR #858 for approximately 2.5 miles to the intersection with FSR #838, Rowdy Lake Road.  Turn left onto FSR #838 and continue for approximately 1 mile to the trail parking.
