Hunter Campground

Hunter Campground is open to self-supported camping as long as weather permits after season closures (no trash collection, water, or cleaning). It is popular with pack and saddle stock users. The campground offers corrals, hitching rails, and an accessible mounting ramp. It is conveniently located off Hunter Road 19, from U.S. Highway 16, near many trails that access Cloud Peak Wilderness and Rock Creek recommended wilderness area.

Memorial Day - Labor Day, weather dependent

14 day stay limit. Wilderness Regulations apply within nearby Cloud Peak Wilderness.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $22 per night

Limit 8 people per site.  

Dogs must be on a leash.

Directions

From Buffalo, WY take Highway 16 from for 13 miles west. Then take Forest System Road (FSR) 19 west for 2 miles and go left onto FSR 396 and follow to campground entrance.
