Kreis Pond Campground

Current Conditions
Closes December 1st and opens April 1st. 

Close to the Ninemile Ranger Station and Grand Menard Picnic Area, this campground offers mountain biking opportunities and has seven campsites and a day use area with two grills. The campsites are located around Kreis Pond with plenty of opportunities to fish from.

First-come, first-served.

General Information

Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table.

Campground open from April 1 - December 1.

Day use area is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Please visit the Forest's Alerts page for information on restrictions, in particular please review the Food/Wildlife Attractant Storage Order to help reduce the likelihood of human-to-bear conflicts. 

$10 per site for overnight use. Cash or check only.

Reservations are not accepted for Kreis Pond - it is a first-come, first-served site with a two-night camping limit. 

Dogs must be under control at all times.

Directions

From Interstate 90, take exit #82 at Ninemile, then travel west on MT 10 to the Remount Road. Drive 2.5 miles north to the Ninemile Ranger Station, then continue 5 miles northwest on the Edith Peak and Butler Creek Loop roads.

Recreation Opportunities

Biking - Mountain Info

There are multi-use trails around Kreis Pond that are great for novice bike riders. These trails are old roads and won't meet expectations for adventure seekers.

Kreis Pond is about 7 acres and is a great place to fish for westslope cutthroat trout, stocked by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. 

Boating - Non-Motorized Info

You can launch your kayak or small boat right from the shoreline to enjoy a paddle or row on Kreis Pond. 

Day Hikes Info

There are multi-use trails throughout the area perfect for a stroll through the woods.
