Strong Creek Trail #444

A local favorite for ATV riders, hikers and mountains bikers this old road traverses through the forest with nice views of Lake Pend Oreille near the top. It connects with Beetop-Roundtop Trail 120 at its upper trailhead. Trail 120 is non-motorized.

Idaho Panhandle NF visitor travel map restriction [4]. Closed to motorized vehicles over 50¿ in width yearlong except snowmobiles. No restrictions for ATV¿s or motorbikes.

Getting There

Directions

Lower Trailhead: From Sandpoint take Hwy 200 east 16 miles to Hope. From Hope take Grandview Avenue to Strong Creek Road. Follow Strong Creek Road to the trailhead. Parking is very limited at this trailhead.

Upper Trailhead: Take Hwy 200 east 12 miles to Trestle Creek Road 275; turn left onto Road 275 and go 16 miles to Lightning Creek Road 419; turn right onto Road 419 and go 5 miles to Auxor Road 489; turn right onto Road 489 and go 8 miles to the trailhead located at the gate and the junction with Trail 120.
