E-Bike Use Designation on Select Jackson Area Trails

Additional Project Information

December 18, 2024

Hello trail friends!
First of all, we want to thank those who submitted comments on the E-Bike Use Designation on Select Jackson Area Trails. Your involvement in this process is absolutely key to finding a sustainable path forward.

Due to the high amount of interest around this topic and our emphasis on community connection with the front-country trails program, Jackson Ranger District will host additional opportunities for learning and public engagement as part of the next steps.
First, we will record a short video to report out on what we heard from the public scoping, how we are analyzing the comments, and what the next steps in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process will be. We%u2019ll be producing this presentation in January and will be sending it out to the public. We encourage everyone to watch and share this presentation.
Following this report out presentation, there will be an in-person E-bike Workshop/Design Charette in February to review the core issues associated with the proposal and provide an opportunity to help craft potential alternatives that the Forest Service could consider as part of the environmental analysis.
Next, the Jackson Ranger District will draft an environmental assessment and release it for public review during an official comment period.
Stay tuned for the short video and dates for the in-person workshop/charette. You can also stay up to date by reviewing information at the project page. Thank you again for your involvement, your input is highly valued!
