The Junior Ranger will then be given the official prestigious wooden Junior Ranger badge. The Junior Ranger program is designed to encourage children to appreciate nature and be more aware of the world around them.
Junior Ranger workbooks can be found at our Visitor Center starting at 11:30am and completed workbooks can be given to staff by 3:00pm on museum tour days. Children must be present to receive a badge.
Site Access, Parking and Handicap Access:
Visitors are encouraged to use the pedestrian gates from sunup to sundown to access trails on the site. During our winter season there may be limited vehicle gate access due to weather. Visitor restrooms and vehicle gates will be closed on Saturday and Sundays during the winter season.
Pathways and parking may be affected by winter weather conditions.
The visitor lot has ample parking spaces for cars and buses. We kindly ask that buses use the designated bus parking areas. Bus parking will be limited during the winter season. Please call 570-296-9630 if arriving by bus to schedule parking during our winter season.
The walkway from the parking lot to the mansion is approximately 350 yards uphill and mimics the original carriageway. Please enjoy the views, watch your step, and take your time as you walk towards the mansion.
For those with limited mobility, there are two handicap parking spots adjacent to the mansion for those with appropriate vehicle identification. If you do not have appropriate vehicle identification, you may drop members of your party off near the mansion and park in the lot behind the home. Signage will guide you up the driveway to the handicap spots and drop-off area.
