*This holiday is designated as "Washington’s Birthday" in section 6103(a) of title 5 of the United States Code, which is the law that specifies holidays for Federal employees. Though other institutions such as state and local governments and private businesses may use other names, it is our policy to always refer to holidays by the names designated in the law.
Concession operated sites may be included in the waiver if the permit holder wishes to participate. Waiving of expanded amenity fees such as overnight camping, rental cabins, etc. operated by the FS will be at the discretion of the line officer. Sites listed on the Recreation.gov will not be included in the fee waiver due to the difficulties of refunding reservation payments.
Please take advantage of these fee waiver days to reach out to your communities and encourage people to get outside and enjoy their public lands.
If you have any questions, please contact Matthew Boisseau, Recreation Program Coordinator at (707) 562-8846.
