Tufa towers at sunset, Mono Lake. South Tufa Fee Area: South Tufa is the best place to see Mono Lake's iconic Tufa towers. There is a one-mile loop trail that takes you down to the shore and through the largest Tufa area next to Mono Lake. Signs along the way give visitors an excellent self guided tour. All resources are protected so only take pictures. The road to South Tufa is gravel. Children 15 & under are free while adults are $3 per person. Interagency Pass is accepted as payment. Call for guided tour information. Tours meet at the information kiosk. Bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and a thirst for knowledge.

Panum Crater: Collecting rocks or obsidian is prohibited. Road to Panum Crater is gravel.

Mono Lake Committee: Open Daily 9am to 7pm, changes to 9am to 5pm the last week of September. Learn about the Mono Basin and browse the bookstore. Join an outdoor seminar or volunteer to be a steward of the Mono Basin.
