Institute Publications and Products

The International Institute of Tropical Forestry produces publications, products, and other electronic media in an effort to make science available to the public. We hope our products will prove useful to those who depend on the natural resources of the American tropics for their livelihood and quality of life.

The Institute works with universities, other government agencies, corporations, and non-government organizations on studies that contribute to the conservation of forests, wildlife, and watersheds of the American tropics in the context of environmental change.

The Institute employs about 11 research scientists in disciplines ranging from plant physiology to the social sciences, from biogeochemistry to landscape ecology. Each year, our scientists' names appear as authors on numerous journal articles, research papers, resource assessments, handbooks, videos, and presentations.
