Forest Management Activity on Public Access Routes

Information on this page represents anticipated management actions and activities that are designed to improve the health of our forest as well as public access to it.

  • Engineering projects such as replacement of culverts and repairs to our road systems not only improves public access, but also the water quality of our aquatic systems.
  • Timber management activities can make progress towards decreasing the risk and severity of future wildland fires and improve fire suppression effectiveness, firefighter and public safety in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI), and forest health conditions by increasing forest stand diversity and resilience to disturbances (drought, insect and disease outbreaks, and wildfires).

Travel within the following areas may be affected due to log hauling from active timber sales or by construction and engineering projects intended to improve road access. As you are driving on all Forest Service roads, please be aware you may be sharing the road with large trucks and heavy equipment.
