In addition to the visitor centers at the Forest Headquarters and District offices, there are a couple visitor centers that can also provide information for your recreation plans while visiting the Forest.

This information center has a full interpretive display that provides a history of the Forest and its evolution over time. The center was developed using the Smithsonian guidelines for accessibility, and has tactile, hands-on displays as well as an audio-described tour. Staff are available to provide information and suggestions on short hikes, campgrounds, and other activities and programs. Restrooms are also available.
