Contractors replace two culverts on Forest Road 4775-011 by Soda Springs Dam, starting July 30. The road will be closed intermittently for up to four weeks during construction.
The Soda Springs Trailhead into Pine Bench of Boulder Creek Wilderness will not be accessible during construction. Recreationists can use Medicine Creek Road as a temporary trailhead to access Boulder Creek Wilderness via Bradley Trail #1491.
The temporary detour is a great opportunity for visitors to explore the Medicine Creek Rock Art, rock paintings created more than 250 years ago by the native inhabitants of the Land of Umpqua. For more information about rock paintings, contact the Diamond Lake Ranger District at (541) 498-2531.
