Forest Service Road 1376, will be closed between mile post 9 and 10, approximately 21 miles northeast of Brookings, to vehicle traffic starting on Monday, June 27, 2016 through August 17, 2016. Forest Service Road 1376, is also known as the Chetco River Road and is located on the Gold Beach Ranger District near Brookings.

Construction work will begin on replacing a 36” failed culvert that caused water to overflow the ditch line, eroding the roadway fill. A new properly sized 72” culvert will be installed at mile post 9.5 and the road repaired.

Motorists are advised to use alternate route County Road 800, also known as Gardner Ridge (approximately 10 miles) to Forest Service Road 1407 (approximately 17 miles) which will tie into Forest Service Road 1376 at mile post 21. Please be prepared to allow approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour additional driving time to reach your destination.

Please contact the Gold Beach Ranger District, at (541) 247-3600 for information.
