Stanislaus National Forest Terminates Seasonal Road Closure Order

Executes new order closing Deer Valley Road (8N02)

SONORA, California, June 26, 2024— As recreation specialist continue evaluating roads on the Stanislaus National Forest, we’re pleased to announce the early termination (effective today) of Forest Order STF-16-2024-06 that closed several higher elevation roads on the Mi-Wok/Summit and Calaveras Ranger Districts. With the termination, the determination was made to execute a new order (Forest Order STF-16-2024-07), closing Dear Valley Road until July 11, 2024.

“Our folks are out there nearly every day evaluating conditions, clearing damage from the previous season and ensuring the safest possible conditions on our roads ways,” said Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor, Jason Kuiken. “Couple that with regular communication between field going and office staff and we are pleased to open these rods earlier than expected.”

Current forest orders with maps of impacted areas are available at the Stanislaus National Forest’s website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/STFForestOrders
