The Cape Perpetua Visitor Center moves to its fall operating hours beginning Monday, Sept. 21. The Visitor Center, located three miles south of Yachats, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until the end of the year.
“Fall is a great time to explore the Oregon Coast,” said Brian Hoeh, Visitor Center manager. “There’s less traffic along the highways, while the weather tends to be a little more mild with warmer temperatures and less wind.”
In recognition of Public Lands Day, the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area will be waiving its day-use fees Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27. Artist-in-residence Colleen Caubin also will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, to help visitors explore the Scenic Area through art.
For more information, call the Visitor Center at 541-547-3289.
