Recreation Fee Program
Your dollars at work
Recreation fees provide and enhance recreation sites, facilities, and services. Visitors benefit directly from the fees they pay. Ninety-five percent of collections stay in the forest, where they are collected and go into operating, maintaining, and improving recreation sites, such as campgrounds, developed day-use sites, boat ramps, trails, rental cabins and interpretive programs and visitor information. The Eastern Region has over 2,300 recreation sites; seventy-five percent are free.
