Highlights of the Ouachita National Recreation Trail

In June 2010 Taggart Barron took a troop of 5 young men and 3 adults on a 50 mile hike on the Ouachita National Trail. They started at mile 56.7 at the Highway 270 Trailhead. First night was spent at the campground around Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge. They then proceeded west, camping and refilling water along the way. Their last night was spent at Winding Stair Campground. The last day they veered north on the trail to Cedar Lake where they ended with a nice swim.
