Recreation Passes

Most national forest system lands are open and free of charge for your use and enjoyment. Day-use and camping fees may be charged at some areas. Discounts for day-use and camping may be available through Interagency passes, such as the America the Beautiful Interagency Senior Pass (annual and lifetime) and the Interagency Access Pass (for those with a disability). Also available are the Interagency Annual Pass, the Fourth Grade Pass, the Military Pass and the Volunteer Pass.

Passes are distributed at the district offices as well as the Forest Supervisor's office in Hot Springs, AR. There are limited personnel who issue the passes, so please call your closest district first.

Every Kid Outdoors Annual 4th Grade Pass

  • Free
  • Available to U.S. 4th Graders (including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age). Educators can also be involved! Learn more at the Every Kid Outdoors website.
  • The pass is valid for the duration of the 4th grade school year through the following summer (September - August).
  • Must have a paper voucher printed from the Every Kid Outdoors website to obtain the Annual 4th Grade Pass. Digital versions of the voucher (such as smart phones or tablets) will not be accepted.

Volunteer Pass

A "Volunteer Pass" is an Annual Pass awarded to those individuals who volunteer 250 hours at one or more recreation sites managed by five Federal agencies as a way to say "thank you!"
