Coeur d'Alene Nursery

Along with seed cleaning, and storage, the Nursery can provide stock quality testing for the land manager.

The Nursery's Mission

  • Provide quality seedlings for publicly-owned lands
  • Develop the best possible methods for producing quality seedlings
  • Work with cooperative forestry to demonstrate successful tree growing practices and share new technology

Aerial photo of the Coeur d'Alene NurseryTo fulfill this mission, the Nursery maintains 130 acres of irrigated seedbeds, along with 25 controlled environment greenhouses. From the seedbeds, over 16 million seedlings can be produced annually, while the greenhouses can grow an additional 4 million containerized seedlings annually.

The Nursery is a full service facility that cleans, tests and stores seed, and provides seedling quality testing. The testing services can be provided to other growers or to clients that have their stock grown here at Coeur d'Alene.
