The Wilderness Science and Art Collaboration
The Wilderness Science and Art Collaboration is an interdisciplinary effort between science and art, with the purpose of celebrating the earth, resources and the opportunities protected under the Wilderness Act.
Aldo & Leonardo, a partnership between Colorado Art Ranch and the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute, is a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. The project is inspired by the scientific wisdom of Aldo Leopold and the artistic genius of Leonardo da Vinci. In early 2013, artists collaborated in the scientific process with scientists from the International Institute of Tropical Forestry, and assisted in data collection.
