2:00 p.m. Kid’s Day! “Turtle Tales” Have you ever wondered where turtles spend their winters? A talk on turtle traits, habitat and variations. Paper plate turtle craft for each participant. This program is packed with fun facts on the reptile world.

1:00 p.m. Kid’s Day! “Leave No Trace” Do you know how to select the best location to pitch a tent?  What to do with your trash or how to build a campfire that is safe?  Learn how to camp and Leave No Trace when you are gone.

1:00 p.m. Kid’s Day! “Backyard Bugs” Learn about six basic bugs found in your backyard. Test your knowledge in the Bug Boogie game and create a bug made from egg cartons to take home!

7:00 p.m. “Michigan History in Song.” Escanaba based folk singer/storyteller, Bill Jamerson, depicts life in the lumbercamp. Songs range from foot stomping jigs to soulful ballads.  Songs and stories about people both ordinary and extra-ordinary, about events that helped shape who we are as Americans. They are as entertaining as they are important – as honest and accurate as they are fun.

1:00 p.m. Kid’s Day! “Digital Scavenger Hunt” Be ready to go hunt through the forest for some nature items.  We will learn why it is important not to remove things from the woods, but to 'take a picture' and leave it there for others.  Cameras will be supplied.
