Glenwood, N.M. - The New Mexico Department of Transportation has announced that N.M. State Highway 159, also known as Bursum Road, is expected to be closed for the winter season on November 25th. If a significant snowfall occurs on this high elevation road before the expected closing date, Bursum Road will be closed immediately.

Bursum Road is closed annually during the winter months due to safety concerns associated with icy road conditions and heavy snow accumulations. The closed area starts approximately one mile east of the town of Mogollon and ends west of the Bearwallow Road.
