What is a post?

In general, a post is any log that is 10 feet long, with a diameter on the large end of 1 inch to 6.9 inches or a Cedar log that is 9 feet long with a maximum circumference of 33 inches (~10.5 inch diamter).

What is a pole?

In general, a pole is any log that is 24 feet long with a diameter on the large end of 1 inch to 3 inches or any log 20 feet long with a diameter on the large end of 3 inches to 5 inches.

What is a rail?

In general, a rail is a log that is 12 feet long with maximum circumference of 22 inches (~7 inch diameter).
