What Recreation Pass Do I Need?
Reviewing and answering the following questions will help you select the best pass for your needs when visiting Forest Service managed recreation fee sites in Washington and Oregon.

Regional/National Passes Options
1. Are your recreating just for a day on Forest Service managed recreation fee sites in Washington and Oregon?
- Day Passes include Day ePass, National Forest Day Pass,
- Other passes that work are: Interagency Annual, Senior Annual, Senior Lifetime, Access, Military, Free Access to Veterans and Gold Star Family Members, Every Kid Outdoors, Northwest Forest Pass, Interagency Volunteer pass. Oregon Coast Pass is good only on the Oregon coast.
2. Are you planning on visiting only Forest Service managed recreation fee sites in Washington and Oregon more than six times a year?
3. Do you expect to visit multiple federal agency lands (Forest Service, National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and Corps of Engineers recreation areas) more than 10 times a year?
Military Pass Options
1. Are you an active military personnel or their dependent?
2. Are you next of kin of a member of the United States Armed Forces who lost his or her life in a "qualifying situation," such as a war, an international terrorist attack, or a military operation outside of the United States while serving with the United States Armed Forces?
3. Are you a veteran who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves?

4. Are you recreating in Deschutes National Forests at any of the following sites, Lava Lands Visitor Center, Lava Butte Interpretive Site, Benham Falls East Day Use Area, Lava River Cave, Lava Cast Forest Day Use Interpretive Site and all of the day use sites in Newberry Caldera?
- Digital Recreation Day Pass ($5) - Day Pass for Forest Service fee sites ONLY in Deschutes National Forest.
- Newberry National Volcanic Monument 3-day Pass.
5. Will you be traveling to the Johnston Ridge Observatory at Gifford Pinchot National Forest?
- Mount St. Helens wrist band – *only needed to enter the visitor center. There is no day-use fee at the parking area. Wrist bands are available on-site.
