Swett Ranch Homestead: Work Shop

In 1941, Oscar obtained the defunct Greendale schoolhouse from the Daggett County School District on the condition that he would remove the structure from its original location. The Forest Service considered the building a fire hazard. So Oscar dismantled the schoolhouse, shortened and hauled the logs by wagon to the ranch. He reassembled the building next to the horse barn for use as a workshop. The schoolhouse was originally located on forest land approximately ¼ mile north of its present location.
