Ute Mountain Fire Lookout Tower
The Ute Mountain Lookout was the first and is the last standing fire tower with living quarters above ground in Utah. The tower offers a 360-degree view of miles of virtually uninhabited northeastern slope of the Uinta Mountain Range.

Grandview Trailhead to Grandaddy Basin
Enjoy the mountain scenery and many lakes on the moderately strenuous hike from the Grandview Trailhead to Grandaddy Basin. There are plenty of lakes off the beaten path if you are looking for solitude.

Lake Fork Trailhead
Lake Fork Trailheads to Brown Duck Basin, East Basin and Upper Lake Fork. Please check the trailhead postings for current information and for fire restrictions for all lakes in Brown Duck Basin.

Rock Creek Trailhead
The primary destination for the trail is Rock Creek Basin, but it also links up with the West Fork of Rock Creek Trail leading to Grandaddy Basin. There are several mountain vistas and stocked lakes along the route.

Yellowstone and Swift Creek Trailhead
The Swift Creek Trail immediately moves up a series of switchbacks and gains elevation until it reaches Deer Lake. There are many camping and fishing opportunities there and further along route.

Uinta Canyon Trailhead
Uinta Canyon Trailhead leads to some majestic places on the Ashley National Forest including Krebs Basin, Atwood basin, Painters Basin, Fox Lake, and Kidney Lake.

Center Park Trailhead
Center Park Trailhead leads to Toquer Lake, Garfield Basin, Highline Trail. Swasey Lakes, Spider Lake, and 5 Point Lake are the most popular in the basin and are not typically very crowded.

The Green River
The Green River runs through Wyoming and Utah and is known for its scenery and crystal-clear water. It is also popular for fishing and other outdoor activities.

Grizzley Ridge Yurt
The Grizzly Ridge Yurt is located approximately 20 air miles north of Vernal, in eastern Utah. It provides year-round primitive lodging for guests and is open for reservations all months except November, April and May.

Carter Military Yurt
During the winter months, the Carter Military Yurt is used primarily as a snowmobile warming hut and can be reserved from June through October at Recreation.gov .

Trout Creek Guard Station
The Historic Trout Creek Guard Station is available to rent in the summer well as in the winter. The historic cabin is located off the Red Cloud loop scenic backway on the Ashley National Forest.
