Forest Roads Status

Road Openings Delayed

Rain, mud, snowpack runoff and other weather events are causing delays to anticipated road openings. Recent windstorms have led to trees down along many roads and trails. Crews will continue to assess conditions. Challenging obstacles might still exist despite roads being open.

The U.S. Forest Service closes roads seasonally for many reasons. Some roads are closed to protect wildlife at critical times of the year, others are closed because they are not passable due to snow, snow drifts and ice or to protect the road bed.
