Forest Offices Closed to Commemorate Juneteenth

Warren, PA, June 17, 2024—The USDA Forest Service announced that the Allegheny National Forest offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers reached Galveston, Texas, with news of the end of the Civil War and the announcement that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state were free by executive decree. Juneteenth is a day to commemorate emancipation and the steps taken toward freedom. 

Our summer office hours are listed below. 

  • Bradford Ranger District Office, Bradford, PA – Open Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed on federal holidays. 
  • Marienville Ranger District Office, Marienville, PA – Open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed on federal holidays. 
  • Forest Headquarters (Supervisor’s Office), Warren, PA – Open Thursday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed on federal holidays.
