Fishing

Trout and small mouth bass are the most sought after game fish on the forest.  Shasta, Trinity and Lewiston Lakes offer rainbow and brown trout and small mouth bass.  The McCloud, Upper Sacramento and Trinity Rivers are world renowned as excellent trout streams.

In addition to these more popular areas, the Forest has hundreds of more "out-of-the-way" lakes and streams where you can spend a quiet day or two angling.

Information on season, licenses and fishing restrictions is available from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife
