Fishing is a popular activity in many rivers, streams and lakes located within the boundaries of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. The Missouri River and associated reservoirs (Canyon Ferry, Hauser, Upper Holter) are very popular and provide excellent fishing opportunities.  In addition, there are several mountain lakes which are not promoted but offer a wonderful fishing experience.  Many small streams on the forest provide trout fishing in a beautiful mountain environment.

Fishing regulations are developed, implemented and enforced by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks.  For more information about fishing in Montana please reference the following website: http://fwp.mt.gov/recreation.
