The majestic peaks and rugged backcountry of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest lie within easy reach of one of the wests fastest growing metropolitan areas. Encompassing nearly 2.1 million ecologically-diverse acres, including seven Wilderness areas, the Forest is one of the most frequently visited in the nation. From skiing in world-renown powder to cruising the scenic highways or picnicking on a lazy afternoon, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache has just about something for everyone.

Christmas Tree Permits

It is that time again as Christmas is just around the corner. Families can have a unique recreational outing by cutting their own Christmas trees on Utah National Forests.  Click here for information regarding permits and cutting locations.

Power Line Projects

The Dixie National Forest is the lead forest for three power line projects that will potentially impact all Utah forests. The Forest Service is not the lead agency; BLM is the lead agency. Click the links below to learn more about each project.

Temporary Road Closures

Construction on the lower Franklin Basin Bridge is now complete and the road is open to through traffic, until snow levels make it impassable to all vehicles. When there is sufficient snow base the road will then be open to over snow machines.

The Temple Fork Road (Forest Road #20007) remains closed for public safety, as crews continue to work on the lower bridge replacement, which should be completed in early December.
