Welcome to the Boise National Forest 

 A Quick Overview

 The Boise National Forest is approximately 2,612,000 acres located north and east of the city of Boise, Idaho.

Organizational Overview

The Boise National Forest has 6 offices: the Forest Supervisor's Office in Boise, and Ranger District offices in Mountain Home, Idaho City, Cascade, Lowman and Emmett, Idaho. Additionally, there are Guard Stations located in Garden Valley and High Valley.  full article »

Wildlife Conservation Strategy

The Boise, Payette and Sawtooth National Forests are developing a Wildlife Conservation Strategy (WCS) in accordance with their respective Forest Plans. The WCS will prioritize for the next 10-15 years the types of activities that should be undertaken to help maintain or restore habitat for wildlife species in greatest need of conservation. The WCS will also identify where these actions are most needed.
