Forest Service Seeks Comment on Angora Reforestation Project

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is seeking public comment on a proposal that would allow planting of conifer seedlings in the Angora Fire area this spring.  The Forest Service requests comments on the proposal by Mar. 22, 2010.  An environmental assessment for comprehensive restoration of the Angora Fire area will be released by mid-March, and the agency has previously analyzed reforestation as part of this project.  The proposal is available at the Forest Supervisor's office at 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151 or by visiting the Angora Reforestation Project web page. 

LTBMU Seeking Applications for the Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee

Nominations for individuals to serve on the 2010-2012 Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee (LTFAC or Committee) are being accepted by the USDA Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit through April 2, 2010. Individuals interested in taking an active role in Lake Tahoe issues are encouraged to apply.
