Winter Recreation

The Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit offers some of the finest winter recreational opportunities in the nation. We recommend a stop at the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Forest Supervisor's Office, located at 35 College Drive in South Lake Tahoe. This office provides a year-round source of information. The front desk is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, please contact us.

 

2010 Winter Trek

5th Grade Environmental Education Program

The U.S. Forest Service, Heavenly Ski Resort, the City of South Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Heritage Foundation are excited to announce the 6th year of our high mountain Winter Trek Express.  The 5th Grade Snowshoe program will take place Mondays through Fridays starting January 11 and continuing through March 31, 2010.  If you would like to join us for this special field trip, please call (530) 543-2694 starting Monday, December 14, 2010 (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) to reserve your class for our snow adventure and to address any questions you might have.  Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
