The Dimond O Campground is located on a mixed conifer forested site adjacent to the Middle Fork of the Tuolumne River. It is the closest campground to the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite National Park and Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and a campfire pit with a grill. Vault toilets and potable water is available throughout the campground.

Please use caution while in the
Rim Fire Burned Area.
Potential hazards include loose and falling rocks, flash floods, and debris flows.
Trees may have been weakened from fire damage and ongoing drought and may fall at any time.
Stay on designated roads and trails and within opened areas.
Be alert for falling objects and do not linger around large trees.
Avoid the area during high winds or heavy rain.

Fees: American Land & Leisure operates the Dimond O Campground and charges the following fees:
  • $33.00 for a single-family site
  • $66.00 for a double-family site
American Land & Leisure operates this campground under a special use permit administered by the Forest Service. The fees paid by concessionairs finance the refurbishment of facilities in the campgrounds they operate.
Open Season: May - September
Restrictions: Camp in designated sites only. The number of people allowed in a single campsite is 6. The maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days. Campfire permits are not required in developed campgrounds. Do not burn plastic or metal. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Often, locations destroyed by thoughtless campers must be closed to restore the area's natural health. Help ensure your favorite area remains open.

  • Yosemite Lakes
  • Camp Mather
Additionally, Crane Flat Station in Yosemite National Park has gas and groceries. The nearest hospital is in Sonora.
Water: Potable water is available at faucets throughout campground. Filling of RVs is prohibited.
Restroom: Several vault toilets are located throughout the campground. No RV dump station available.

General Information

Directions:

From the Groveland District Office head east 15miles on Highway 120, turn left on Evergreen Road. Travel 4 miles, the campground is located on the left.


Accessibility:

Most sites, restrooms, and water faucets are wheelchair accessible.

Activities

Campground Camping

Tent and RV camping is permitted.

RV Camping

Maximum RV/trailer length is 36 feet. No RV hookups available. Dimond O Campground has drinking water, but filling of RVs is not allowed. The nearest fill up locations are in Groveland. Dimond O Campground does not have a dump station.

Group Camping

There are a few double sites for multi-family camping trips.

River and Stream Fishing

Available on the Middle Fork of the Tuolumne River which is located next to campground.

Day Hiking

A short trail leads from the campground to the Middle Fork of the Tuolumne River. Nearby trails include the Carlon Falls Trail near the Carlon Day Use Area and Yosemite National Park trails accessible from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir.
