Painter Creek Trail #1575


This trail within Alpine Lakes Wilderness has steep grades for the first 2 miles, then it climbs gently in a valley-bottom to Icicle Ridge.

The trail is not maintained between the junction with Badlands Trail #1576 and Icicle Ridge Trail #1570, making it difficult to follow in many places. 

Primitive camping and horse grazing are available along the trail.

Directions:

This trail has no trailhead.  The trail begins 9 miles up the Chiwaukum Creek Trail #1571 and ends at the Icicle Ridge Trail #1570.

Activities

Backpacking

Several primitive sites are available along the trail.  Please us existing sites and do not camp on vegetation.  No campfires are permitted above 5000' in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. 

This trail is easy to follow to the junction of the Badlands Trail #1576.  There are campsites located on the Painter Creek Trail beyond this junction, but be prepared for poor trail conditions and routefinding.
