Lolo Creek Campground

Lolo Creek Campground consists of 9 camping units and is located 21 miles northeast of Kamiah, Idaho along the shores of Lolo and Eldorado Creek. This campground is a fantastic location for a rustic camping trip if you enjoy hiking, ohv trail riding, fishing, huckleberry picking or just watching the scenery while relaxing to the sounds of running water. With 9 camping units situated alongside both the Lolo and Eldorado Creeks, and only minutes from the Lewis & Clark Trail (#25) and the Musselshell OHV Trail System, the Lolo Creek Campground offers a wide variety of unique recreation opportunities for all!

Activities

Mountain Biking

Cyclist may use the roads in the campground and roads 100 and 500 for trail/road riding.

Campground Camping

The campsites consist of gravel roads and camping spurs, 5 of which are located along Lolo Creek and 4 are along  Eldorado Creek. The campground has bulletin boards, picnic tales, firerings, tent pads and and 2 vault toilets.

River and Stream Fishing

The Lochsa River in Idaho is especially known for its fly fishing opportunities, with crystal-clear water and lots of cutthroat trout.

Please contact the Lochsa Ranger District Office at  208-926-4274 to find out detailed information about catch-and-release rules in the Lochsa River Corridor.Check the IDF&G fishing regulations for open seasons and catchable species.

Note: Barbless hooks are called for everywhere on the Lochsa River Idaho.

Visitors to Lolo Campground will enjoy access to the famouse Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail (#25)!

Viewing Scenery

Scenery is beautiful through the Highway12 and Lochsa River corridor, ranging from dense forests to shrubfields created by wildfires in the early 1900s. Canyon walls are steep, and rock outcroppings are
impressive.

OHV Trail Riding

Musselshell OHV Trail system is located 2 miles from Lolo Campground.

Scenic Driving

US Highway 12, the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway and All American Road, is a paved two-lane highway. It is a winding road, with limited opportunities to pass and speed limits 50 miles per hour or less. There are a few turnouts to allow faster traffic to pass. These, too, are limited. Access to the Highway 12 corridor is from Lewiston, Kooskia or Missoula.

Swimming

During the summer months, families often enjoy wading in Lolo Creek.

Snowmobiling

Road 100 is groomed in the winter season for snowmobile riding.
