Asahel Curtis Nature Trail 1023
Begin at Annette Lake Trailhead or Asahel Curtis Picnic Area and enjoy a short, easy walk through one of the last remaining stands of old growth in the Snoqualmie Valley. You’ll cross Humpback Creek several times before the trail raises gently into a grove of mature Douglas-fir, western hemlock and western red cedar trees. See mosses, ferns, orchids and a large variety of wildflowers in late spring and mushrooms on the forest floor during fall. Listen to winter wrens among the trees and occasionally spot a pileated woodpecker. This is an excellent walk for families with young children, as well as for older people, but use caution on the cedar boardwalk planks that are slippery when wet. Follow the short connector trail to the Asahel Curtis Picnic Area to the north.
