Just west of the Scott River on Kelsey Creek you pick up the Kelsey National Recreation Trail. Originally built in the 1850's, the trail served as a supply route from the coast to Scott Valley and the military post at Fort Jones. Today the trail serves as a popular day hike to Paradise Lake and connects backpackers to the PCT.

General Information
Directions: From Fort Jones travel northeast on Scott River Road approx 19 miles to Bridge Flat River Access. Turn left and follow the signs to Kelsey Trailhead.

A current California Campfire Permit is required to use a camp stove, barbecue or have a campfire. Local fire restrictions supersede the campfire permit. Inquire at the Ranger Station before having a fire.
