Boot Lake Recreation Area
This campground overlooks a scenic 263-acre lake. Bask in the sun on the beautiful beach and then take a relaxing dip in the lake, or enjoy the fishing. Boot Lake contains walleye, northern pike, bass, musky and panfish. In addition, several nearby streams offer excellent trout fishing, and the Wolf River provides fishing, rafting, and first-class canoeing opportunities. Generally, use at this popular campground is heavy throughout the summer.

General Information
Campground Camping
The campground sits at the north end of Boot Lake and overlooks the scenic 263-acre lake. It has 36 campsites, of which 19 are reservable. There is a camp host as well as a beautiful swimming beach, shaded picnic area and boat landing with a dock. The campground has vault toilets and drinking water.
RV Camping
A majority of campsites can accommodate campers as long as 35 feet and longer. Some sites are on a first-come basis. There are 19 reservable sites.

The USDA Forest Service honors all four Interagency Recreation Passes that may be applied at National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Fish and Wildlife sites charging recreation use fees.

Campsite Capacity
- Maximum of 8 people and 4 vehicles at each camp site.
- Vehicle capacity limit includes vehicles, wheeled camping units and trailers.
Firewood Closure Order
- Our firewood closure order prohibits the possession, storage, or transport of any firewood that originates from more than 25 miles from your campsite. Firewood certified by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Transportation and Consumer Protection can originate from more than 25 miles from National Forest destination.
- Pallet boards are not approved.
Operation of all ATVs & UTVs are prohibited in campground.
Individual campsite fee is $18, or $9 with the use of an Interagency pass (access or senior). The interagency pass applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fees or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party. There is a $5 day use pass for the boat landing and beach. This does not apply to registered campers. The Forest also has an annual pass available for $30.

Recreation Opportunities
Fishing - Lake & Pond Info
Fishing on the 235-acre Boot Lake may net you walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, musky or panfish. There is a paved boat ramp at the campground with a boarding dock and parking for 10 vehicles. This seepage lake is 38 feet deep.
Swimming Info
Enjoy the beautiful sandy beach at Boot Lake, which is great for swimming and snorkeling.
Boating - Motorized Info
There is a paved boat ramp at the Boot Lake Recreation Area with a dock and parking for up to 10 vehicles. This seepage lake is 38 feet deep. There is a $5 recreation use fee for the boat landing. This does not apply to registered campers.
Boating - Non-Motorized Info
Canoeing, kayaking, paddling and windsurfing are some of the popular non-motorized water activities on Boot Lake.
Day Hikes Info
The Jones Spring non-motorized area is nearby with a short trail leading you from the campground to it, that offers hiking, hunting and cross-country skiing.
Picnicking - Single Info
The Boot Lake Campground has a beautiful, shaded picnic area near the swim beach and boat landing. There is a $5 recreation use fee for using the day use area (beach, picnic and boat landing). This does not apply to registered campers.
