Bridge Closure on Caney Ranger District's Corney Lake Road

A bridge on Corney Lake Road on the Caney Ranger District in Claiborne Parish will be closed for repairs, beginning October 30, 2024. There is no estimated reopening date at this time. Until the bridge is repaired and the road reopened, visitors to Corney Lake are advised to take one of the two suggested alternate routes to access Corney Lake. From HWY 9: north of Summerfield turn onto Barber Creek Road (PARISH ROAD 53), travel approximately 3 miles and turn left onto Thompson Road. Thompson Road tees into Corney Lake Road. Turn right and follow signs to Corney Lake. From HWY 167: turn onto Summerfield HWY (LA 2), travel approximately 4.4 miles and turn right at Weldon Baptist Church onto Corney Lake Road.
