About Forest Service jobs

Employees of the Forest Service are inspired to care for more than 193 million acres of our nation’s tremendous National Forests and Grasslands. Together, we help to meet the needs of people and communities today and ensure that these natural resources remain healthy and productive for future generations. We call this the greatest good, and we’ve been united by this purpose for more than 100 years. It's a tremendous responsibility and there are many opportunities to contribute.

Is the Forest Service a good fit for you?

We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may be one who comes from a less traditional background. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill-set for the role.

Collaboration and connections with communities are at the heart of what we do. We’re also looking for people who share a passion for the mission of the Forest Service, and believe that working together with other people can often generate better ideas and solutions to complex issues we face. Being equity centered is how we do business. Learn more about who we are and view our Equity Action Plan
