1920's
McKinley Lake Mine site includes the mining remains of the McKinley Lake Mining Company organized in 1906 and operated through 1912. There has since been occasional interest in the claims in this area, including development of a mining operation by Dr. W. Chase of Cordova from the 1920s to the late 1950s. In 1939, the Civilian Conservation Corps worked on the access trail to the mine, widening it to six feet.
